Abuja Municipal town is a local government area within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria that makes up the sixth local government area which are Kwali, Kuje, Gwagwalada, Bwari, and Abaji. The town is also called the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) which is located in the eastern part of the Federal Capital Territory, the town is closed to Suleja road at the North, it’s also lead to Keffi – Nyanya road at the East and one can also drive through Gwagwalada Lokoja road at the West.
The town was founded on the 1st of October 1984, it one of the oldest towns in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Municipal has twelve wards which are Wuse, Orozo, Nyanya, Karshi, Karu, Kabusa, Jiwa, Gwarinpa, Gwagwa, Gui, Garki, and City Center. The wards are represented by a Councilor each and the headquarters of Abuja Municipal is at Garki.
Abuja Municipal is a large and beautiful town with a population of 776, 298 as of 2006 and 1,234,880 in 2011 according to report, which means the population will be more presently. The land of Abuja Municipal is an arable land and has a rich soil. The land has a high yield in Yam production in the villages, Rice, Millet, Guinea corn, Flour mills, and Beans. The set of people here is Educated and civilized people who are Bankers, Doctors, Teachers, Educationist, Engineers, Civil Engineers, Legal practitioners, Government officials etc.

The town has Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Five-star hotel, Army, Airforce, Navy and The Nigerian Police Mobile Force headquarters are also in this town. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory office, The Arts and Culture Centre and has a mighty single housing estate which is called the Gwarinpa Housing Estate.
