The Coronavirus outbreak is also a big problem for South American countries with Coronavirus cases. The first case in the continent was recorded in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Also, this case was dated in February 26. Going farther to the 3rd of April; every country in South America had recorded at least a case. However, this does not exclude foreign territories. Furthermore, the likes of French overseas department of French Guiana and the British overseas territory; of the Falkland Island are involve. However, Ecuador is said to be strongly affected by the pandemic. Also, it is the epicentre of the virus in Latin America. However, Brazil records the most number of cases.
This plethora of cases also includes several deaths as well. Thus a staggering report, one might say. Confirmed cases well over 70,000 are recorded as at April 2020. The number of recovered cases numbers 27,696. And 3,665 deaths . These are the record for over 14 territories.

Argentina
However, with 3,020 people having the virus. The first outbreak hit Argentina on the 3rd of March. Also, its first report death case was on March 7th. Unfortunately, the patient was only tested positive after he passed on. Although, he was 64 years of age. Also, he was suffering from other illnesses. However, this was the first official death case in the continent. However, on the 19th of march, Argentina implemented a nation wide lockdown. Bolivia
The virus first spread to Bolivia in March. Also, its first two cases were observed in the province of Oruro and Santa cruz. Although, Bolivia is not different from other South American countries with coronavirus cases. However, the authorities immediately took precautionary measures. This include the suspension of flights to and fro Europe for a long period of time. Meanwhile, schools were not left out. Also, public gatherings of not more than a thousand people is ban too.
Brazil
The number of Coronavirus cases in the country as at the 20th of April 2020 records 40,581. Also, with a huge number of death record of 2,575. However, Brazil’s first positive patient was a 61 year old man. This case was suspected to be a result of his arrival from Lombardy in Italy. Furthermore, the pandemic has great impact on several sectors of the country. This include Politics, Economy and Education. Although, the Government announces a temporary ban on foreign air travellers. The country has more than 39,000 cases so far.

Chile
The country’s cases were reported to have come from Europe and South East Asia. However, the spread of the pandemic grew fast to several places. This made the virus almost untraceable. Consequently, this placed the country in four-phases of the pandemic. However, on the 20th of April 2020; the country has 1000 Corona virus cases.
Colombia
Although, Coronavirus hit Colombia on April 6, 2020. Afterwards, the authorities refuse non citizens entry into the country. However, Diplomats and Permanent residents can enter into the country.
Ecuador
A 70 year old woman who lives in Spain arrived Guayaquil province on 14 April. However, she became the first patient in the country. Thereafter, five more cases were added few days afterwards. Furthermore, a record of 2,240 was recorded by the end of the month. However, 75 deaths reported along side the confirmed cases. Therefore, Ecuador fast became the epicentre of the virus. 10,939 deaths was recorded within 6weeks of March.
El Salvador
Reported death of a young boy, 6 years old. The youngest case so far in the state. The country has a population of 6.6 million people. Its report gives 177 confirmed cases and 7 deaths. Meanwhile, the border was closed before any case was reported.

April 20
The Government submitted a proposal to the congress that offsets the economic crisis. A proposal to tax fortunes of $3 million.
April 19
The Government announced to pay company workers 50% of their salaries. Although, it will be paid only to those facing financial problems. And also remit any interest on loans to self employed workers.
