History of Starved Rock State Park

This begins in 1835, when military personnel, Daniel Hitt bought the land from the U.S.A Government as compensation for retiring well. However, He sold it to Ferdinand Walther in 1890; Walther built hotels and made its a recreational centre. Furthermore, Illinois State later purchased the site in 1911, and in the 1930s three camps were developed by Civilian Conservation Corps and then build the trail and lodge that is now in the park. Also, the site became a National Historic Landmark in 1966. Then on 8th, May 1985 the Starved Rock State Park’s Lodge and Cabins was on the U.S National Register of Historic Places.

Death in Starved Rock State Park

Though, the first death we can record took place on 14th, March 1960. However, this was the death of three women. Although, it was recorded that Chester Weger who is now free at 80 years after living in prison for 60 years was their murderer. Also, in July 2019 a 31-year-old man falls dead from more than 30 feet when attending a wedding. Although its record that he was trying to bluff before the fall behind the lodge Great Hall. Meanwhile the second death last year was when a film crewman after falling from 48 feet died last year on 17th, October 2019.     I had the first choise because I tried to buy them when I was 13. The women in the gift shop had my information. I Think I bought them when I was 16. I need the information because it stated a tribe made them I am going to be there about Aug 24 or 25th. Please I need help. They were made in 1946. The year I was born.
