Ngor Okpala in Imo State is an LGA that lies near Ihiagwa at the west, Owerri at the North West, and Umuahia at the North East. Meanwhile, Uduk Usur is in the South. However, it is a popular LGA in the Southeastern part of Nigeria and has its administrative headquarters in Umuneke Ngor. Nevertheless, the Ngor Okpala shares a common boundary with the Abia state and Rivers state. Also, it has 5 kindred which are, Amanwaebo, Umuokereke, Amaube, Umuodah, and, Amankwu. Nonetheless, it is one of the 27 LGA in Imo state. Also, it is the largest Local Government Area in Imo State and one of the largest LGA among others in Nigeria. Nevertheless, with an area of 561 km², the land is rich in minerals. Also, its postal code is 460.

However, Ngor Okpala is near Naze, Nekede, Emii, and Okpofe in the North. Also, Uvuru, and Owerrinta at the East. Meanwhile, Ihiagwa and Eziobodo are in the West. And the town is near Obite in Rivers State. However, Uvuru is a nearby town to this LGA and is home to Orie Uvuru market in Nguru-Umu Ohie Uku Road. Also, Owerrinta is a town that lies along Owerri/Onitsha Expressway in Abia state. Which is in Isiala Ngwa South LGA. While Obite a community in Etche LGA of Rivers State sits very close to Ngor Okpala.

History of Ngor Okapla Local Government Area
Although, history has it that Okpala originates from Ama-Asaa. However, it used to be one of the 7 villages that make up Ama-Asaa. Furthermore, due to the popularity of Okpala; it took over the Ama-Asaa name. Also, that is why some people still call it Okpala Junction. However, there are many communities in Ngor Okpala. Nonetheless, Alatia and Ikem are one of the newest Autonomous community. Meanwhile, Ngor Okpala consists of Umuowa, Umukabia-Ogodo , Obiangwu, Logara, Orishieze, Ntu, Umuekwuneand, Alulu, Umuhu, Amala, Oburu, Eziama, Obokwe, Nnorie, Umuhu, Upe, Ihite-Okwe, Obike, Umuohiagu, Imerienwe, Elelem, Nguru-Umuaro, and Ohekelem.

However, Ngor Okpala is one of the populated places in Imo state. As of 1991, its population was 135,711; in 2006 it hits 157,858 and in 2016 the population climbed to 217,400. Therefore, the population of Ngor Okpala in Imo state 2020 is estimated at 220,100. Meanwhile, towns in Imo state with higher population are Ideato South 219,900 while Ideato North is 215,100 as 0f 2006.
