The latest pandemic originated in Asian countries with Coronavirus cases. However, the very first case started in Wuhan, China. This epidemic disease spread fast through Hubei, the largest city in the country. And with time was felt throughout the continent.

Furthermore, about every country in Asia had reported at least one case of the virus as at March 22 2020. Meanwhile, countries like Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and North Korea were yet to report a single case. Currently, Asia has a total of 159,945 confirmed cases. And a toll death of 12,019 across 49 territories. While India continually record cases at a high rate; China, Turkey and Iran have the highest number of confirmed cases in the continent. Although, South Korea and China are among the earliest countries to report cases; they seem to have controlled it quite well. The event Tabligh Jamaat has also played a part in increased cases especially among Southeast Asian countries.

 Asian countries with Coronavirus cases confirmed

Afghanistan

At least three suspected cases of coronavirus were detected on the 23rd of February. These citizens, residents of Herat had their blood samples taken. While they were kept in isolation, their blood sample was taken to Kabul to be tested. However, Iran closed their borders at the notice of this because the three cases had recently visited Qom. Furthermore, one of the three suspected infected persons tested positive to SARS-CoV-2. The patient is a 35 year old man from Herat. Also, three new cases were confirmed on March 10, all from the same province. The number of cases soon hit five with an additional patient testing positive just outside Herat. With over a thousand cases and about 40 deaths; they also closed their borders.

 Armenia

A 29 year old citizen was the first case of the country. He tested positive shortly after his return from Iran. His wife’s test however came in negative afterwards. Though he got better and was said to be in good condition much later. Meanwhile, 30 other people were quarantined after coming in contact with the man. Afterwards, the country closed its border alongside Iran. An action now prevalent among Asian countries with coronavirus cases. With several cases building up, about 300 more are being quarantined. Its current number of confirmed cases totals 1,473.

 Cambodia

Cambodia currently have 122 confirmed cases and no death so far. The first case of the country came from a visiting Chinese man; travelling with his family. Although, his family showed no symptoms they were placed under quarantine to make sure they are safe. However, he recovered after about two weeks of treatment. Afterwards, the family and fellow visitors flew back to China. This is one of the Asian countries with Coronavirus cases that is really trying. 

 China

China, the origin of the pandemic so far records 82, 788 confirmed cases. Even with the Corona virus cases to deal with; China seem to have more problems at hand. Alhough, Covid-19 cases have recently been on a low count. Among Asian countries with Corona virus cases, China records more asymptomatic cases than most. Patients with the virus but show no symptoms are also put under observation to better contain and control. A total number of 1,541 asymptomatic patients are so far recorded. Beijing, Hebei, Henan are all parts of territories with active cases in China.

 India

With So many of India’s citizens living in China; a large number of them happen to be students. A thermal screening of arriving passengers from China was done at several major Airports. Also, the first few patients were arrivals from China. Though they all recovered after weeks of treatment. Furthermore, the first death from Covid-19 was reported on March 12. And thousands of people are being detained for violating the imposed lockdown. As the Government ordered a nation wide lockdown for three weeks. Meanwhile, cases continue to increase as they also device means to fight the virus.

Indonesia

With a population of 230 million, this is the largest Muslim country in the world. As the pandemic continues to prove rather enigmatic, mosques will remain close through the Ramadan period. Also, virtual trials is being put in motion to keep the judicial system functional.

 Philippines

The covid-19 disease has infected over 100 people. This brings the total cases to 6,710 so far. Also, increasing death toll to 446. Though the fatality rate seems quite high, a large number of patients continue to recover. Meanwhile, the police department also have about 70 infected personnel.

 Malaysia

Despite its rather encouraging recovery numbers, 3452. The country intends to activate a covid-19 test on a large scale. However, this step speaks mostly to foreign workers even with its total tests in thousands.

Thailand

The country reported new cases more than 30. This pushed the number of cases up and death toll as well. Two deaths recorded. Similar to other Asian countries with coronavirus cases, more tests are carried out.

 Myanmar

Myanmar have reported more cases in recent past. However, its border 2000 kilometre long is shared with China. The country continues to conduct tests to detect infected patients fast enough.

 Hong Kong

Although, they never imposed a lockdown other precautionary measures were taken. Initially, schools, parks and a few buildings were closed. And more recently, foreign arrivals are banned from entry into the country. Also, Public gatherings are restricted as well as carrying out more tests. Non compliance to the rules laid down attracts jail time.

 Taiwan

With a considerably low number of confirmed cases of 330. Taiwan’s reaction to the pandemic is regarded as commendable. This is also one of the Asian countries with Coronavirus cases that has really maintain a no entry policy on foreigners. This has proved successful so far.

 Singapore

Compared to other Asian countries with Coronavirus cases, its number of cases are considerably low. They also closed about every mass gathering; from worship centres to tuition centres. In addition, all International flights are banned. Also, fines will be paid for defying the lockdown rule.

 South Korea

The country seem to have control of the rate of the pandemic. Apparently, tackling the disease with aggressive measures have paid. Its entry ban into the country may just be extended.

 Mainland China

Although, the outbreak in the country has reduced there are still concerns. Returnees from abroad are yet to be let back into the country for fear of exposure. Meanwhile, movement is allowed in the province of Hubei. Though people are monitored by an Health App. This is a strict rule for Asian countries with Coronavirus cases.
