Every Nation including African countries with coronavirus cases is presently downcast. A continent of about 1.2 billion people and 54 countries. And only two of these Nations so far are Coronavirus-free; Lesotho and Comoros. These countries belong to the Southern-African region of Africa. Although, these countries are yet to report any case of the coronavirus, the fear of it lingers. According to NCDC, the continent’s casualty case is currently past 20,000. The African union of National Centre for Disease control is the official source for every update on coronavirus in Africa. Also, updates reveal death toll in the country to be above 1000.

However, countries continue to impose several precautions to control the virus. Apparently, a few countries seem to struggle more than others. And need urgent help from more developed countries. Furthermore, this peril is due to inadequate facilities. These countries need economic and financial support to fight against the virus.

 Kenya

Kenya currently has a case count of 281 as at 20th April 2020. With an addition of 11 cases recently. The Nation records the third highest confirmed case from the East side. This just behind Mauritius and Djibouti. Also, a total of 455 people were quarantined. This is due to defiance of the curfew imposed. Furthermore, the Airlines have converted four of its passenger aircraft into cargo carriers. Although, this is a move to improve the countries’ business. It also helps control spread of the virus.

Equatorial Guinea

The people of Guinea are also in the fight of their lives. Although, just like other African countries with coronavirus cases. In an effort to contain the virus. Guinea has imposed the use of face mask. Also, Police officers conduct checks in different parts of the capital. Apparently, the new order has proved to be a success so far.

Zimbabwe

According to the health ministry, tests are being carried out often. The African nation has a total of 25 cases reported so far. Although, a total of just 3 deaths are recorded. They continue to recruit health workers to help fight the virus.

With 3 as the number of deaths recorded from covid-19. The health workers continue to carry out tests. Although, the cases do not reduce as hoped for. Every preventive measure in the book is carried out. It is emphasized that tests are only carried out on suspected persons with the virus. Or those that may have come in contact with those confirmed. Meanwhile, the Government continues to implore the people to obey the curfew.

South Africa

Reports says, positive cases have continue to increase. With over a 100,000 tests carried out. South Africa have so far 3,158 case; death toll numbers 54. However, most of these deaths are from treated patients in hospitals. And others are within the states.

Guinea

Coronavirus has claimed the lives of quite a number of state officials in Guinea. The secretary General of the state, Sekou Kouroma died from the virus on April 18 2020. Although he wasn’t the first. Another top official victim was a former director of Interpol. His name Victor Traore. Face masks and a curfew are also part of preventive measure.
